CHELSEA, YOU'RE GETTING BOLD

CHELSEA Clinton made some new bold-faced buddies at Chelsea hotspot Suite 16 in the wee hours of Friday morning. The former First Daughter shook hands and chatted with both Sean "Puffy" Combs and supermodel Gisele "Busty" Bundchen, who was still wiggling her devastating derriere on the dance floor at 4 a.m.

"All of them were very excited to meet each other," says our source who witnessed the historic handshakes.

Chelsea, who was without boyfriend Ian Klaus, stopped by the club after feasting on sushi at Bond St. with catwalking Benihana heiress Devon Aoki, baby-faced canned-tuna scion Evan "Bumblebee Boy" Metropolous, and Suite 16 svengalis Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss.

Meanwhile, we've uncovered some dishy details about another presidential progeny's nightclub visit a while back.

It seems that Barbara Bush, 20, one half of the hard-partying Bush twins, had a run-in at Lotus about three weeks ago when she stopped by with six girlfriends from Yale.

Our source swears that Barbara and her gaggle of gal pals left their coats and bags at their banquette while they boogied on the dance floor.

Apparently, while the women were busy having a good time, one over-eager Lotus staffer picked up their stuff and brought it to a lost-and-found room in the back, thinking it had been left behind.

When Barbara realized what had happened, she marched up to a security person and asked where their belongings where, adding for emphasis, "I'm Barbara Bush." When the suspicious security guard asked to see some ID, Bush told him, "I can't show it to you because it's in my bag."

Once the Lotus lackey realized Barbara was indeed who she said she was, he gave back the goods and apologized.

A witness said Barbara seemed to be drinking along with her Ivy league classmates. But after all the trouble she and her wilder sister Jenna caused last year with their underage drinking, we strongly suspect those were soft drinks she was sipping.

Last May, the twins were busted for buying margaritas at a Tex-Mex joint in Austin. Jenna had already been hit with another underage drinking charge in April. A rep for Lotus says the club has no record of Barbara dropping in last month.

As far as they know, she last stopped by the meatpacking district lounge in February when she attended a Fashion Week party for designers Donna Karan and Zac Posen.
